HOUSING GUIDLINE

Your host will treat you as one of the family, but this means that you will need to fit in with their family routine, which may be different to what you are used to. Your host family is responsible for helping you settle into their home. However, is there is anything that you do not understand or are unhappy about, please do not be afraid to ask your host or StudentHomestayEurope. Misunderstandings can sometimes occur because of language difficulties and it is better to sort out any worries at the beginning.

What you can expect from your host family

To provide a welcoming and comfortable environment and ensure your welfare is always considered.

To help you understand local Transport and how to travel.

To provide a clean room and good quality living conditions.

To allow access to communal areas depending of the lay out of the flat, the family life, and their flexibility. All families have their own code of conduct.

To provide an internet connexion.

To provide one laundry service per week, if more than 2 students on place, the family might ask you to use the closest launderette.

To provide a door key.

To provide the meal plan (Breakfast and dinner ) in accordance with the booking. Breakfast is consisting of: Fruit Juice, Tea or Coffee, Toast with butter/jam or Croissants or similar, cereal with milk . until 10AM.

To provide linen changed every two weeks and towels changed once a week.

To respect your food restrictions.

To clean your room once a week but it is your responsibility to keep it tidy.

What the host family should be able to expect from you

A courtesy call or email from you a few days before your arrival to advise the family of your arrival time. It�s important to inform them so they can be home to welcome you.

Respect for the family home and any rules the family may have, especially the meal schedule. No dinner will be served after 9 PM.

Be very careful with the flat key. If you lose the flat key, you will be expected to replace it at your own cost, which can prove expensive.

Keeping the family informed if you are going to be late home.

Respectful behaviour, adaptation, discretion for a good cohabitation.

Ask the host permission to invite guest. You are not entitled to use the room to accommodate anyone other than yourself.

Meal rules

For the option Bed & Breakfast Self served Breakfast supplied by your host. Evening limited access to the kitchen . Light cooking. No access to the kitchen during the day

For the options B&B + 3 or 5 dinners Self served Breakfast supplied by your host. Evening meal prepared by and shared with the host. Any meals not shared with your host are not refundable. No access to the kitchen during the day.
